This is frightening, amusing and impressive all at the same time. On scoring a goal this team decided that the best way to celebrate was to stage a mock Fish catching ceremony that is strangely hypnotic. The impersonation of a flailing Fish being reeled in is quite possibly the best you will ever see. The thought that must have gone into creating this epic needs to be applauded. You can see how the team all played an integral part to bring this celebration to life. As for the man-fish, well he could have a movie career ahead of him, if indeed a career can be made out of mimicking a dying fish, which there probably isn’t.
Seriously how freaky are those two freaky people either side of a surprisingly calm Wayne Rooney. Jedward, in case you needed educating, are a talentless pair of twins who have somehow expanded their 15 minutes of fame by a couple more minutes, such is the rather sorry state of affairs in the world we live in today. Over to you now. Caption competition. Remember try to not use obscene language, instead just try to be witty and urbane. Failing that be offensive but maybe not so offensive that our automatic moderation kicks in.
The word legend is used far too much in football. For instance the use of ‘legend’ in a sentence involving Emile Heskey would a very big error. However Raul is undoubtedly a legend of the game. His time at the Bernabeu is now officially over and after literally a million goals (including all those in training during his 18 years at the club) he is on his way, perhaps to Schalke or perhaps to Tottenham or Newcastle United, but definitely not West Ham. Here he is saying goodbye to the club and then reading a prepared statement in Spanish. Even those without a basic grasp of the Spanish language should be able to applaud the 33 year old’s sentiments.
The state of football in China right now is a precarious one to say the least. Problems relating to corruption and match fixing are commonplace fixtures of the game and there has been an alarming rise in attacks on officials, oddly enough its usually the players who do the attacking but on this occasion we see a ‘Fan’ attempt to Karate Kick the referee as well as trying a couple of other little punches and slaps.
