Emirates boss looks to promising Bundesliga pair to solidify defence.
Arsenal are rumoured to planning a double German international swoop as they look to beef up their defensive options. Arsene Wenger is preparing a bid for Stuttgart centre back Serdar Tasci and Bayer Leverkusen keeper Rene Adler and hopes that a joint bid in the region of £22m will seal the double signing.
Both players are on the periphery of the national team set up but are seen as future regulars and have developed themselves in the Bundesliga and are both subject to intense transfer speculation. Tasci is a powerfully built centre back who has been a regular in the Stuttgart back line for the past three seasons and has steadily improved year on year and has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich in recent weeks.
Rene Adler missed out on Joachim Low’s final 23 man World Cup squad due to injury and the 25 year old has been a virtual ever present over the past few seasons at Leverkusen and has a great reputation in the Bundesliga and is considered to have one of the safest pairs of hands in Germany.
The Emirates boss has openly admitted to looking to capture another centre back and is also not very keen on his current goalkeeping options with both Manuel Almunia and Lukasz Fabianski dropping multiple clangers last season.
Wenger has been promised extensive funds to help expand his Gunners squad as the club looks to end a five season silverware drought.
