With funds limited at Anfield, until a rumoured take-over is to happen at least, it would seem more sensible to spend the funds on strengthening in other positions. Current second choice ‘keeper Diego Cavalieri has shown that he is a more-than-capable stopper and a decent understudy to Pepe Reina.
Liverpool do also still have controversial goalkeeper Charles Itandje on their books.
