Emirates side on the verge of landing experienced keeper.
MARK SCHWARZER is on the brink of completing his dream move to Arsenal.
Crunch talks will take place on Monday with the Australian keeper set to end his two-year stay at Craven Cottage.
Schwarzer’s advisors will meet with Fulham’s top brass after weeks of moving the deal towards its conclusion.
That is likely to happen next week with the keeper’s advisors confident they have convinced Fulham that he must be allowed to achieve his dream move at the age of 37.
Schwarzer will sign a two-year deal to join the Gunners with the fee still being haggled over.
Arsenal are expected to pay around £3million for a keeper whom Arsene Wenger has long admired and will signal the end of Manuel Almunia’s inconsistent time at the club. (News of the World)
It does seem that this deal is getting nearer to completion and its ones that most Arsenal fans are very much looking to see done, not least because of the complete lack of confidence in Manuel Almunia and Lukasz Fabianski to do a good job between the sticks for the Emirates side.
Mark Hughes is playing hardball but will not want to be stuck with a player who has made it clear he wants to leave. Its a great opportunity for the Aussie keeper and he has stated in interviews that he can not let such a move pass him by, after all at 37 he is unlikely to get another chance of plying his trade with a side challenging for the title as well as competing at Champions League level.
