White Hart Lane boss keen on Sevilla winger.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is looking to step up his chase for new additions to his White Hart Lane squad and is hoping to persuade Sevilla winger Diego Capel to make the move to north London. The 22 year old winger has been a target for the Premier League side for a few years now but the added incentive of Champions League football may make such a move more palatable for the Spanish international.
This coming season will be Capel’s seventh in the Sevilla first team and he has become a cult figure at the club but may be tempted by a new challenge and the Spurs boss is known to be an admirer of the young wide man and appears to be after more wide players having chased the likes of Craig Bellamy in recent weeks.
The Spaniard is valued at around £14m and is currently on the fringes of the national team set up and any potential move could become more likely if his side fails to negotiate their Champions League play-off against Braga, likewise Tottenham become a less attractive option if they do not get past Young Boys.
Redknapp is yet to pick up any new signings this summer, despite being linked with many targets. He has made statements about wanting to strengthen his side and will surely snap up a player or two before the end of the month.
