The countdown to the arrival of Arsenal ace Cesc Fabregas has started in Barcelona, with Sport.es convinced he will be at Camp Nou in ten months.
Despite Javier Mascherano’s arrival from Liverpool, coach Pep Guardiola has left a space in his team for Fabregas, with the Blaugrana chiefs under order to sign the Gunners ace next summer.
Barcelona were hopeful of landing the playmaker this summer, but Arsenal and boss Arsene Wenger were able to resist offers and turn Fabregas’ head back towards the Emirates.
However, speculative voices in Spain suggest the relationship between manager and player has become frosty, and Fabregas will be convinced to pack his bags if Wenger’s promises of trophies fail. (NBC Sport)
The Spanish press seems convinced that Cesc Fabregas will be on his way to the Nou Camp next summer and even Barcelona midfielder Xavi stated as much in a very sly interview he gave last week so will such a deal be struck?
Arsenal turned down offers from the Catalan giants and made it clear they were not interested in negotiating a fee for a player they clearly have no intention of selling but will the Spanish midfielder push for a move if the north London club make it six straight seasons without silverware?
Speculation is rife that president Sandro Rosell will make a £35m move next summer and believes that an offer will be accepted by the Gunners but is that just wishful thinking from a man who is already under pressure for not landing the big money signing he promised when he was elected?
