Manchester United have begun to negotiate over bringing Greek youngster Sotiris Ninis to Old Trafford.
It was reported back in April that Manchester United were compiling a dossier on 20-year-old Ninis and that Sir Alex Ferguson had sent scouts to watch the midfielder on several occasions.
Now, the Sunday Mirror reports that although AC Milan and Real Madrid are also chasing Ninis, Manchester United have opened talks with Panathinaikos over an £8million deal.
Ninis, the youngest ever player to appear for Panathinaikos and now captain of the Greek giants, played 36 games last season, scoring four goals and providing five assists. He has also played seven matches for the Greece national team. (IMScouting)
The speculation surrounding a move by Man United for the Greek Starlet Sotiris Ninis is growing by the day. Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly a big admirer of the Panathinaikos playmaker and this source believes an £8m deal is in the works, a fee that seems surprisingly small for a player of such potential.
The 20 year old is an adaptable attacking force and would help continue the Old Trafford boss’s willingness to buy in young talent to add to his squad much as he has with recent acquisitions of Chris Smalling, Bebe and Javier Hernandez.
If talks are indeed in progress then Ferguson may well be stealing a march on Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho who is reportedly very keen on the Albanian born talent.
