Simple question. Why is Robin Van Persie always injured? I mean ALWAYS. He has been at the club for over six years and has started just 94 Premier League games. Incredible. Let’s put that into context. We have played 231 top tier games since his arrival from Feyenoord. So he is missing far more than half of the games he should be playing in.
His latest setback occurred against Blackburn Rovers and optimistic evaluation of his injury states he may be back by mid-October. MID OCTOBER! We all know how great RVP is when he is fit and raring to go but he so rarely is. If he isn’t injured, he is recovering from injury and trying to string some games together before he invariably….gets injured.
Ankle and knee knocks seem to have plagued his time at the club and Gunners fans such as myself just wonder if we will ever get to see a the Dutch master complete a full season without missing months at a time.
We will miss him big time, especially in crunch games like the local derbies with Chelsea and Tottenham. Oh yes and to round things off nicely, Nicklas Bendtner is also out.
