Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United and Chelsea are all closely monitoring the progress of star in the making Romelu Lukaku, such is the potential shown by the young Belgian international. Having only turned 17 four months ago the powerfully built forward has already achieved a great deal.
In his first full season in the Anderlecht first team he 19 goals in all competitions and helped his side to the domestic title whilst finishing as top scorer in the Belgian league. Such is the immense talent possessed by the teenager that he is valued at an astonishing £16m but such a fee may actually be considered a bargain given the ability he has displayed thus far.
Lukaku collected his first international cap aged just 16 and has also impressed in European competition where he has also been a prolific goalscorer whilst on Europa League duty. Many have likened his physically approach to the game to Chelsea forward Didier Drogba and he is almost certain to leave his Brussels club by next summer at the latest and this source believes that Arsene Wenger is favourite to land the explosive talent and bring him to the Emirates.
