Stamford Bridge boss sets sights on Spanish international.
Chelsea could offer £16.5m for Sevilla winger Jesus Navas in January, according to reports.
Source in Italy claim that Stamford Bridge boss Carlo Ancelotti is a long-term admirer of the Spanish international and is set to ramp up his interest.
The 24-year-old World Cup winner came through the ranks at Sevilla but is yet to extend his contract, which expires in 2012.
And Ancelotti could reportedly take advantage of that by making a big money bid, with Sevilla reportedly happier to sell to the Premier League side than either Barcelona or Real Madrid. (TalkSPORT)
Jesus Navas is considered one of the hottest prospects in La Liga and after six seasons in the Sevilla first team it seems the 24 year old is ready for a new challenge. Interest from the big two, Real Madrid and Barcelona, has not been forthcoming leaving many to believe that the speedy flair player would welcome a move to the Premier League.
Navas works best on the right but has been known to plough a furrow on the left as well and is on the fringes of the starting Spanish international XI and came on as sub in the World Cup Final against Holland. The pint sized wideman has an eye for goal and is one of Sevilla’s chief assist makers and would be a great addition to the Blues ranks.
His arrival would also helpfully bring down the average age of a side that is looking to bring in more youthful talent. The only question to consider would be if the slightly built player would cope well in the more physically robust England top tier.
