A BROAD grin spreads across the face of relieved Wayne Rooney yesterday after wife Coleen finally agreed to take him back.
The cheating superstar, training with his Man U colleagues, knew he had finally won over his 24-year-old wife after agreeing to a string of her demands.And top of Coleen’s list was an ultimatum: “One more girl, Wayne, and we’re finished.”
Coleen also told Rooney he would risk never seeing his ten-month-old son Kai again.
Grim-faced Coleen finally arrived back at the couple’s £4million home in Prestbury, Cheshire, at 12.33pm yesterday with a bundle of clothes piled in the back of her Range Rover.
Then at 2.12pm Rooney, 24, returned from the training session in his silver Range Rover. He later popped out again, driving home at 5.38pm.
They were later joined by Kai, who had been looked after by Coleen’s parents Tony and Colette.It was only the second meeting between Wayne and Coleen since his cheating with two hookers was exposed. But they were then due to spend their first night under the same roof since the story broke.
AdvertisementA source revealed the couple still have a long way to go – with Wayne facing a lengthy period in the spare room.
The source said: “It’s a slow process, a healing process. Coleen wants to make it work and so does Wayne.
“But they are in their home together and they are talking everything through. They are both bending over backwards to try and sort it out. They know they have to.”
Coleen has told Wayne that while she may never forget what he has done she is ready to forgive.
The source went on: “Coleen knows that there will be women all over the country urging her to dump Wayne.
“But she has done a lot of soul-searching and is now feeling stronger and ready to move back in. But she’s made it a condition that if there is just one more girl or any more revelations their marriage is finished.”
Rooney spent seven months romping with Jenny Thompson, 21, then had a threesome with Helen Wood, 23.
But despite the revelations, Coleen realised the two other loves of her life would suffer if she and Wayne split – son Kai and her desperately ill sister Rosie.
The disabled 12-year-old suffered a stroke last week and is in a coma at Liverpool’s Alder Hey hospital.
The source added: “Coleen realises she needs Wayne’s help. She can’t deal with that by herself.” (The Sun)
So there you have it. It seems that using the services of a hooker and having all of this played out against the backdrop of the media frenzy that followed was not enough to see the Manchester United man get the heave-ho, does this mean that Coleen is in some way weak or just has a forgiving nature. Some rather unkindly believe that any decision to take the England man back was a financially motivated one, but surely she has enough money of her own for this not to be the case.
Also if she filed for divorce she would get a big fat settlement so perhaps this does all come down to extreme naivety rather than any money grabbing agenda, does that make it better or worse though?
On to more footballing related matters. Will all this hulabaloo have had any effect on Wayne Rooney the footballer? Well some believe his poor World Cup and somewhat stifled start to the season were the result of anxiety related to the impending s**t storm but people should remember that the 24 year old did have a long season last term and also suffered an ankle injury that would have taken the edge of his game, so it would be churlish and inaccurate to state that Hooker-Gate had any baring on a less than sparkling period of the striker’s career.
What now? Well I can see Rooney getting back to business. With all of this seemingly over and done with, unless more allegations are in the pipeline, the Old Trafford hero can concentrate on what he is best at, no, not bedding prostitutes, but scoring goals, lots of them. For club and country.
