Andy Scott’s Brentford pulled off a major shock at Griffin Park against the travelling Goodison Park outfit who had taken an early lead through Seamus Coleman. Gary Alexander levelled and Charlie MacDonald missed a penalty for the home side but it didn’t matter as in the penalty shoot out Phil Jagielka and Jermaine Beckford failed to convert to give the League One side a famous win.

Arsenal won an enthralling North London Derby at White Hart Lane as Arsene Wenger’s youngsters did their manager proud. Henri Lansbury put the Emirates side ahead after a glorious move and the Gunners had the lions share of the play in the first period but Harry Redknapp made some much needed changes at half time that swung the game back to the home side.
Robbie Keane scored early on in the second period although he may well have been offside and Lukasz Fabianksi should really have stopped the fairly weak shot. Aaron Lennon was causing all sorts of problems on the right and the game was end to end as the match went to extra time.
Within two minutes Sebastien Bassong had given away a clear cut penalty that Samir Nasri tucked away and then amazingly four minutes later Steve Caulker gave away another spot kick which Nasri duly put away to give Arsenal an unassailable lead.
Andrei Arshavin added a fourth with a clinical finish from just inside the box.

It must be cool having Zinedine Zidane as your dad. He was after all probably the most gifted footballer of his generation and seemed to be effortlessly cool and well respected by all and sundry. Flip-side though is that if you didn’t do your homework you may have been on the end of a head-butt to the chest, we jest of course. Anyway Enzo is now 16 and is part of the Real Madrid youth set up and apparently getting better every day and the big talking point, as this video below (in French) discusses, is whether the teenager will opt to play for Spain or France at international level. That will be a mammoth decision to make for such a young kid but I would suggest it best to take his fathers advice, or risk a head-butt!
