Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is planning a summer bid for highly rated Chilean pair Alexis Sanchez and Mauricio Isla and the Old Trafford manager may be ready to offer players in exchange to help convince Italian side Udinese to sell.
Ferguson is known to be a huge admirer of winger Sanchez who impressed many during this summers World Cup in South Africa. The 21 year old has been a big hit in Italy and has become something of a cult hero at the Stadio Friuli. Now it appears that his fellow countryman Mauricio Isla has also become a target of the Premier League side.
The adaptable youngster can play across both the midfield and defence in a number of positions and has been a mainstay at Udinese as a result. Ferguson may believe that bringing the pair in together would help ease them into life in England and Man United are willing to pay the valuation placed on the pair by the struggling Serie A side who currently sit at the bottom of the Serie A table.
The duo sprung to prominence after a wonderful display at the Under 20 World Cup in 2007 where they helped their country to a third place finish.
Udinese are struggling financially and may be willing to sell the pair for around £16-18m as they know that once interest is forthcoming and translated into an actual bid then the Chileans would not doubt have their heads turn by the interest and demand a move.
