Manchester City Set To Make €65 Million Move For Milan Forward Alexandre Pato – Report
Manchester City are preparing to make a mega offer for Milan star Alexandre Pato.
English side Manchester City are reportedly preparing a mega offer for Milan striker Alexandre Pato.
The Eastlands club are ready to offer the Rossoneri up to €65 million for the 21-year-old Brazilian interntaional, with coach Roberto Mancini eager to have the player’s services, according to News of the World.
Defender Pablo Zabaleta or striker Emmanuel Adebayor could also be inserted into the deal for the young star, who has returned recently from a thigh injury.
The Diavoli are keen to have the Togolese forward at their disposal, to go along with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ronaldinho and Robinho.
Adebayor has fallen down the pecking order at the club, with Mancini preferring to play Carlos Tevez as the lone striker up front. (Goal.com)
Given the fact that Roberto Mancini appears to have little time for Emmanuel Adebayor and is unlikely to turn to the likes of Roque Santa Cruz any time soon, a move for a new striker may just be on his wish-list. It appears the Man City boss sees Mario Balotelli working better out wide and may then look for a strike partner to play alongside Carlos Tevez, even though this not currently the type of formation the Italian favours.
By all accounts Pato is not 100% happy at the San Siro and sees this season as a make or break one and if new boss Massimiliano Allegri fails to get AC Milan nearer a domestic or Champions League title then he may well jump ship.
It would take a massive offer to get the Italian side considering a sale and the fee quoted may well just do it, it’s hard to see where Adebayor would fit in a the club if indeed he was part of an exchange. Pablo Zabaleta may be more likely to be part of a deal as the Argentine does at least fill spaces where AC Milan are a little light.
