Arsenal are reportedly set for another long running transfer saga with Catalan giants Barcelona. After a summer of back biting over Emirates skipper Cesc Fabregas it is now being reported that the Nou Camp side is preparing a £12m January bid for Brazilian youngster Denilson.
Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta is allegedly considering an approach for Arsenal midfielder Denilson, according to reports from Spain.
AS comments that the Brazilian is a player Zubizarreta greatly admires, and will discuss a move for the 22-year-old with coach Pep Guardiola, who will have the final say on whether plans for a summer swoop will commence. (Goal.com)
The defensively minded central midfielder is contracted to the north London club until 2014 but this does not appear to bother the La Liga champions who are looking to bring further youthful additions to their squad. Thus far this season the former Sao Paulo man has managed just 50 minutes of Premier League action but is apparently keen to fight for his Gunners career but may well be tempted by interest shown by Pep Guardiola’s side.
