Reported Manchester United target, and Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, has now become a major target for Jose Mourinho and Real Madrid. The hitman has been in superb form since joining Ajax in 2007 netting an incredible 80 goals in just over 103 appearances.
Goal scoring records like that are very rare and he is quite rightly one player that Manchester United and Spanish giants Real Madrid would rather have playing for them than against them. Ajax have stuck a very big price tag on the 23 year old and it is likely to set off a bidding war next summer.
Jose Mourinho is not entirely happy with his strike force at Madrid and looks to be giving French striker Benzema up to January to prove his worth, should that fail then the former Chelsea boss will look to Suarez in a summer move that will most likely be his number one target.
Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United on the other hand are reportedly keen admirers of the goal scorer and amidst financial reports that United’s finance is in check with regards to cash in the bank, may look to also make Suarez their top summer target. (Footy Latest)
So Manchester United are to again face competition from Real Madrid in the transfer market. Sir Alex Ferguson lost out to the Spanish giants just over a year ago for the services of Karim Benzema, and if rumours are to be believed, history could be about to repeat itself.
Suarez would be a fantastic addition to the Manchester United squad, and could be the man to take the pressure off a misfiring Wayne Rooney. The Uruguayan showed his class at the World Cup, and now looks ready to move on to one of Europe’s biggest clubs. If a bidding war were to ensue, then Real Madrid would have to be the favourites for his signature.
There could be a twist in the story though, as surely the signing of Suarez for Real Madrid would signal the end of Karim Benzema’s Bernabeu adventure? Could Manchester United land the French striker at a knock-down fee?
