Walkers Stadium manager reunites with his former charge.
Leicester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson is set to sign Darius Vassell, reports BBC Radio Leicester.
The 30-year-old, who played under Eriksson at Manchester City, is a free agent after parting company with Turkish side MKE Ankaragücü.
The Birmingham-born forward began his career with Aston Villa and signed for City for £2m in the summer of 2005.
Vassell, who becomes Eriksson’s third signing, made 22 appearances for England scoring six goals.
Last week, Curtis Davies and Kyle Naughton joined The Foxes on loan, and both made their debuts in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Hull City. (BBC Sport)
This is great news for Darius Vassell and gives the former England man a chance to come in from the cold, so to speak. The 30 year old has been plugging away at his career in Turkey but a move back to England could be just what the doctor ordered, I can see the speed merchant doing a good job at the Walkers Stadium and a good job for his former Man City boss.
