Manchester United are paving the way for swoop for two up and coming England prospects as he continues to build the next generation of ‘Fergie’s Fledglings’. The Old Trafford boss is greatly impressed by Watford keeper Scott Loach and Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson and hopes to lure both players next summer.
Sir Alex Ferguson is unsure he has the quality of players coming through his own youth system and is looking to supplement his homegrown talent with intelligent additions from elsewhere, hence the signings of the likes of Chris Smalling and Javier Hernandez.
Scott Loach has been hugely impressive at Vicarage Road and the 22 year old keeper has been linked with a move to Tottenham and has even found himself called up to the senior England set up when the likes of Ben Foster and Scott Carson have pulled out through injury. Ferguson is looking for a new up and coming goalie and is apparently a big fan of the Nottingham born youngster.
Jordan Henderson has impressed many over the past 18 months and has become a regular for the Black Cats and is a player that Steve Bruce knows he will find hard to keep at the Stadium of Light. The 20 year old attacking midfielder has shown maturity beyond his years and could well be tempted into making a move to join Man United.
Moves to capture players at a younger age appears to be a more financially viable option for Ferguson and moves for established stars seem to be less likely and a move for this pair would set Ferguson back a reasonable fee of around £14m or so.
