Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is monitoring an ongoing contract issue that is brewing at the Nou Camp with a view to nabbing unhappy Barcelona star Dani Alves. The Brazilian is in talks with the Catalan club about a new and improved deal but thus far the right wing-back is very angry about the offer on the table, so much so that his agent has stated that his client will have no qualms about leaving the La Liga champions.
The Stamford Bridge boss is apparently looking for a new right sided player and is keen to not pass up on the opportunity to bring in a player of Alves’s undoubted quality. The set piece specialist would be a marquee signings that the Premier League champions are keen to make.
The 27 year old former Sevilla man is out of contract in the summer of 2012 and Barcelona have set a deadline of December 31st to have a new deal agreed and if it is not then a free for all could ensue. The west London club clearly have the pulling power and funds to make a deal a reality and if the £22m rated Brazilian international was to leave the Catalan club then a move to join the Blues would surely be tempting.
