JUVENTUS have emerged as the surprise candidates to end Robbie Keane’s Tottenham misery.
The Italian club is expected to bid for the Irish striker, 30, once the January transfer window opens.
Keane has already played a season in Serie A with Inter Milan back in 2000.
But he has started just one Premier League game this season and will be keen on a move to resurrect his career. (The Sun)
Up until now it had seemed that all interest in Tottenham striker Robbie Keane was coming from within the Premier League and the SPL with the likes of Aston Villa and Celtic being big favourites to nab the experienced Irishman, now it appears that a return to Serie A may be on the cards.
The £10m rated hotshot would probably welcome a new challenge and a move to Italy may well work for the Dubliner. Keane is a proven goalscorer and has been a success pretty much wherever he has played, and at Tottenham it appears he has little chance of getting a regular spot under Harry Redknapp, despite having netted 133 times for the north London club.
Juventus have invested wisely in their squad over the summer, with the likes of Milos Krasic and Alberto Aquilani (on loan) being brought in by new boss Luigi Delneri. The one fear for Keane would be whether he would be guaranteed a starting spot with the Turin club. After all they do have Alessandro Del Piero, Vincenzo Iaquinta and Amauri as their current attacking options.
