Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is rumoured to be interested in Brazilian youngster Neymar and could well be interested in making a move for the teenage attacker. The starlet has recently been linked with a move to Europe after a hugely successful domestic season with Santos and recent quotes from his agent suggest an exit from the Sao Paulo side seems inevitable.
Wenger, always an astute purchaser of young talent, knows that a move for Neymar would involve a rather large bid given that the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid have already reportedly made their interest known. The Emirates boss does not often spend big but is known to be ready to invest large sums in young players he feels could go far. Hence the large outlays he made for the likes of Theo Walcott and Aaron Ramsey.
Neymar scored on his national team debut and has netted an impressive 36 goals for his club this season. He is however also known for his ability to showboat and fall to the floor with alarming ease and both traits may not endear him with the Premier League audience but that would not stop teams from trying to tie up a move for the incredibly talented 18 year old.
Santos have placed an inflated £25m price tag on their prized asset but may be amenable for lesser offers given that the player’s representative has made it clear that he is likely to leave his native Brazil sooner rather than later.
