Big-spending Manchester City have sent scouts to check on Porto’s Brazilian striker Hulk.
The Brazilian international has been in brilliant form this season and scored twice in a 5-0 win over Benfica in front of City scouts on Sunday.
Hulk, who has scored nine goals this season and has twice been the Portuguese League’s Player of the Month, said: “I have heard about the rumours of the Premier League, but I am focused on my work here.” (Daily Mirror)
One would question the need for Roberto Mancini to bring in yet another striker given the fact he has the following international level options available to him: Carlos Tevez, Emmanuel Adebayor, Mario Balotelli, Roque Santa Cruz and Jo. However the Premier League table doesn’t lie, Man City have managed to net just 15 goals in 11 games, that’s less than Blackpool.
Brazilian international Hulk, what a great nickname, has been in incredible form this season netting 15 goals in 15 games and helping the Lisbon side to open up a ten point lead at the top of the table. The 24 year old is a hustle and bustle type physical player which may well make him ideal for the Premier League and he is believed to be valued at around £16m, a fee Man City will see as chicken feed.
