Andy Carroll could leave Newcastle United following his problems off the pitch – and Tottenham are in pole position to land him, Goal.com UK can reveal.
The striker is also attracting interest from Manchester United and Liverpool after a stunning start to the Premier League season.
Carroll has been the subject of controversy in his personal life and figures close to the player now believe he may have to move away from Newcastle to settle down.
Redknapp has to sell players before he can make significant purchases in January but is now weighing up a £10 million bid – and he could try to use Ireland captain Keane as a makeweight in the deal.(Goal.com)
Not sure that that the assertion that Andy Carroll would move to London in order to settle down as that seems like a move that would in fact make it impossible to settle down, also it seems very unlikely indeed that Chris Hughton would sell such a prized asset in the first place.
Harry Redknapp is definitely not happy with his current crop of strikers who seem to find it hard to find the back of the net and the White Hart Lane boss will be desperate to get long term injury victim Jermain Defoe back as soon as possible.
