Chelsea are readying a summer move for Palermo’s highly rated attacking midfielder Javier Pastore. Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly going to ask Roman Abramovich for the requisite funds to match the valuation placed on the Argentine international by the Serie A side.
The powerfully built 21 year old has been in incredible form since his move to the Sicilian club in the summer of 2009 and is considered by many as one of the hottest prospects in world footballer. Perhaps most importantly to the west London club is the fact that at such a young age Pastore has already awesome potential and would helpfully reverse the ageing nature of the Stamford Bridge squad.
The creative midfielder has an eye for goal and is always looking to bring others into play. Pastore netted a superb hat-trick on the weekend to help push his side to the fringes of the European qualification spots and it seems likely he will be on his way in the summer to pastures new having outgrown his side.
Pastore has been valued at £35m by Palermo who will look to cash in on their prized asset and the goalscoring midfielder may be an ideal long term replacement for 32 year old England international Frank Lampard who is experiencing a prolonged period of time out with a groin injury that has seen him restricted to just three Premier League appearances so far this season.
