Arsene Wenger is looking to take full advantage of the uncertain situation at Ajax to attempt to land Ajax pair Luis Suarez and Jan Vertonghen and is willing to use the likes of Nicklas Bendtner and Denilson as part of any deal to sign the talented duo.

Martin Jol left the club earlier this month and a big cloud hangs over Uruguayan goal machine Luis Suarez who is currently in the middle of a seven match ban for biting an opponent and is reportedly looking for a way out from the Amsterdam club. Arsenal could well do with a new striking option after seeing the likes of Carlos Vela and Bendtner fail to inspire Wenger’s confidence and the club having to deal as best they can with injury prone Dutchman Robin Van Persie.

Suarez had a great World Cup in the summer and has been a consistent threat with Ajax, netting 110 goals in 154 games for the club, but he appears ready to make the step up from the decidedly average Dutch league and may well be keen on a move to the Emirates.

Another Ajax player that Wenger has been watching for some time is centre back and occasional defensive midfielder Jan Vertonghen. The talented Belgian is the central defensive partner of Gunners defender Thomas Vermaelen at international level and that may well be a pairing that the Gunners boss is looking to put together at the Emirates.

Nicklas Bendtner has stated on record that unless he gets a regular first team place he will be looking to leave Arsenal, a statement that angered Arsene Wenger. He may well be interested in a move to Ajax where he could garner the regular starting spot he desires and the same could be said of Brazilian midfielder Denilson who has been linked with a move to Wolfsburg.
