Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Brazilian teen sensation Neymar and hope to beat off competition to the signing of the Santos star. Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to build a new generation of Old Trafford talent and has been monitoring the youngster for the best part of a year.
Neymar is considered one of the hottest prospects in world football and is widely anticipated to leave Brazil in the summer in the search of a move to Europe and the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid are also said to be keen on signing adaptable attacker.
The 18 year old has had a marvellous season with Santos netting 43 goals on the road to helping his side to winning the state championship and his form helped get him into the national team reckoning far sooner than many had expected and Sao Paulo born starlet netted on his debut against the United States.
The £22m rated wonderkid will not come cheaply but he has shown enough potential to suggest he has a very bright future but it may take some tempting to convince Neymar to make the move to the Premier League over offers from Spain.
Ferguson does of course have a number of Neymar’s international team-mates in his squad and the likes of Rafael and Anderson may help to persuade him to make the move to Manchester. The Man United boss has been promised significant funds in the summer to help reinvigorate an ageing side and a move for Neymar would help convince the likes of Wayne Rooney that the club has the financial clout to compete with Europe’s elite in the transfer market.
