Crystal Palace manager George Burley has been sacked after the club’s 3-0 away defeat at Millwall.
The defeat left Palace, who last won on 27 November, second from bottom in the Championship table and three points away from safety.
Burley was appointed Palace boss in June 2010 after the London club were bought by the CPFC 2010 consortium.
Former Ipswich boss Burley, 54, has also had management spells at Derby County, Hearts and Southampton. (BBC Sport)
Scot George Burley becomes the latest casualty of an especially turbulent winter for those in managerial positions in England. In the past few days fellow Championship boss’s Darren Ferguson and Brian Laws have been relieved of their duties and now the Crystal Palace follows them to the job centre after barely six months in the job.
The south London side find themselves second from bottom and clearly today’s 3-0 defeat against Millwall was the last straw for the club’s owners.
