Blackburn Rovers’ attempts to sign Ronaldinho remain unclear after a senior AC Milan source told Sky Sport News that the Italian club have not received a bid for the Brazilian.
Current Ewood Park manager Steve Kean has revealed that the Premier League outfit’s owners, the Venky’s group, want to sign the former World Player of the Year in the current transfer window.
Kean has stated that contact has been made with the representatives of former Barcelona star Ronaldinho, who has also been linked with a return to first club, Gremio, as Rovers attempt to make a statement of their intent and ambitions.
A senior source of the Serie A club told Sky Sports News’ chief news reporter, Bryan Swanson: “The club has received no bid for Ronaldinho from anyone, including Blackburn. There has not been an approach.
“We believe Ronaldinho wants to play in Brazil. Vice president Adriano Galliani is in Rio de Janeiro meeting the player’s agent and dealing with his contract.
“We do not know if clubs are dealing with Ronaldinho directly but he is under contract with us, so we need to be told.” (Sky Sports)
So in case you were unaware. Blackburn Rovers at first denied reports that they had made a move to sign AC Milan star Ronaldinho but then some hours later a spokeswomen for the club’s new owners stated that they had in fact made an offer of £6.2m for the 30 year old Brazilian.
However this report states that AC Milan have in fact received no such bid? So what is going on? Are Blackburn Rovers attempting to punch above their weight but unable to put their money where there collective mouths are? Or did the offer just get lost in the post?
