Liverpool midfielder target Keisuke Honda is keen on a move to the club, claims the player’s agent.
The Japanese international midfielder has been linked with a string of European clubs following an impressive World Cup for the Asian nation, with Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson one of those thought to be interested in the player.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is also thought to be keen on the player, although the latest developments would suggest that the Gunners are not expected to make a move for the player, leaving the door open for Liverpool.
Player representative Kees Ploegsma stoked the fire over a potential move, although denied a verbal agreement between player and club has already been made during an interview with Sport.co.uk.
“There is constant speculation surrounding Liverpool, but the real situation is that there is only interest from them, and they have not made a firm offer.”
“If he could move to a club like Liverpool it would be great, but the two clubs must come to an agreement first. The Premier League is a great competition which he would like to play in,” Ploegsma concluded. (Give Me Football – Offical PFA Website)
Japanese playmaker Keisuke Honda is very much a wanted man and given that the Russian league is now over there may well be a few offers coming for the 24 year old but this source appears to fuel speculation that the player would very much like to move to Liverpool where he would surely be welcomed.
Honda is a talented attack minded midfielder who has the ability to make things happen and is also a great set piece specialist. Although the CSKA man only arrived in Moscow a little over a year ago it is widely reported that the former VVV Venlo man is ready for a new challenge.
The £12m rated flair player would add more creativity to the Liverpool midfield and the signs are there that owners NESV are willing to offer Hodgson a decent transfer fund that should be more than able to fight for big name signings such as this.
