Tottenham are being linked with a loan move for Emmanuel Adebayor as he looks to get away from Manchester City.
The former Arsenal front man looks to be on his way from Eastlands where he is finding first team football difficult to come by and where he recently had a fall out in training with Kolo Toure.
Harry Redknapp has been linked but whether he is prepared to pay the striker’s reported £160,000 a week wages and whether City would be prepared to loan him to a Champions League rival remains to be seen. (Eat Sleep Sport)
Having watched as his side’s striker once again failed to hit the back of the net Harry Redknapp appears to be a man on a mission to land a goalscorer this month and whilst a loan move for Emmanuel Adebayor may cost a small fortune in terms of wages he could give the north London side some much needed support up front.
The Manchester City striker hasn’t really had much of a look in at Eastlands this season and has just had one hell of a bust up with Kolo Toure and is unlikely to figure in the first team plans for any time soon and whilst he is a former Arsenal man the hatred that the Gunners support have towards the Togo international may well make him something of a cult hero at White Hart Lane.
Thus far this season Spurs’ recognised striking quartet of Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch and Roman Pavlyuchenko have netted just six goals between them in the Premier League this season which is an even more disappointing statistic when you consider that at this point last season they had amassed 23.
Will Roberto Mancini allow Adebayor to leave for the north London club? Will he feel that he needs to get rid of the potentially disturbing influence in the dressing room even if it means farming him out to a potential top four rival?
