Liverpool are rumoured to be considering a move to sign West Ham midfielder Scott Parker as Kenny Dalglish looks to bring in new additions in the transfer window that he may feel will spark their season into life. The Upton Park battler has been in fine form despite the Hammers being bottom of the table and the England international had previously been linked with a move to Anfield during Roy Hodgson’s brief spell at the club.
Whilst Liverpool’s new owners are keen on concentrating on the long term future of the club and have therefore been looking for new signings to be youthful ones, a move for a player like Parker may help add some steel into the porous midfield.
The 30 year old is in the form of his life and shows no sign of slowing down in pace and is seemingly always on hand to thwart an opposition attack whilst looking for an outlet going forward. The former Chelsea and Newcastle United man also has plenty of fight and perhaps that is what Dalglish needs right now in order to help his club steer clear of the relegation zone that they sit perilously close to.
West Ham will fight to keep the Lambeth born midfielder but the player himself would surely be tempted a move to the Merseyside club and if an offer is indeed made then he may force the East London side to consider accepting.
Last summer Parker was strongly linked with a move to Liverpool and was valued at around £6m but given his form this season he may cost more and given what he can offer the club he would surely be well worth consideration.
