Steven Pienaar has claimed on his official Twitter website that he has agreed to join Tottenham from Everton
As revealed by skysports.com last weekend Spurs were favourites to land the South African international despite interest from Chelsea.
Writing on social networking website Twitter, Pienaar has said: “To end speculation I am going to Spurs.“I’ve had brilliant years at Everton and it will always be a special place in my heart.”
There has been no official confirmation from either club yet, but it appears Pienaar is set to swap Goodison Park for White Hart Lane. (Sky Sports)
So there you have it. Unless someone has hacked into the South African international’s Twitter account or the 28 year old Everton contract rebel is a particularly cruel individual with a penchant for sick jokes, then it appears that Harry Redknapp will finally get his man. If indeed this is the case then Chelsea will wonder how they have managed to lose out in the race for the former Ajax man, the Premier League champions poor recent record may well have been a mitigating factor.
