Kenny Miller looks set to leave Rangers for Bursaspor after agreeing terms but Walter Smith claims both clubs have yet to agree a fee.
The Scotland striker was absent from Tuesday’s SPL win over Inverness as he was given permission to talk to the Turkish champions.
Miller, who was also a target of Birmingham City, told the Premier League side that he did not want to return to England after citing an “irresistible” offer in Turkey.
And Smith confirmed the 22-goal man has geared himself for a move east of the continent.
“We don’t know whether he is away yet or not,” said Smith.
“Both clubs haven’t agreed a fee. I think Kenny and his advisers have agreed their part with Bursaspor.
“We’ll just have to wait and see if they can reach agreement with our own club.” (Sky Sports)
In many ways Miller’s decision to turn down Premier League advances for a move to Turkey is a very brave one and one that should draw a great deal of admiration, not least because foreign signings into the Turkish league do tend to find it very hard to settle and even harder to win over the incredibly fervent supporters.
The fact that the 31 year old has already spent six up and down years in England probably helped the Edinburgh born striker to opt for a move to Bursaspor who Miller of course got to go head to head with in Champions League action this season and the Rangers man has netted an incredible 21 goals in 17 SPL games which even in the average Scottish League is quite a feat.
Buraspor are currently in second spot in the Turkish Super Lig, some five points behind Trabzonspor so the going could be tough as boss Ertu?rul Sa?lam tries to secure another title to go with their first ever from last term.
