Sky Sources understand Liverpool have had a £4million bid for Charlie Adam turned down by Blackpool.
Sought-after midfielder Adam has been heavily linked with a move away from Bloomfield Road during this month’s transfer window, with Aston Villa having already had two offers for the 25-year-old rejected.
Pool boss Ian Holloway previously branded Villa’s failed £3.5m bid for Adam ‘insulting’, and it appears the Seasiders were equally unimpressed by the Reds’ offer, which was similarly snubbed despite being the highest bid yet for his services.

One wonders if it made any sense for Liverpool to make an offer for Blackpool midfielder that they must have known would not succeed, as it was barely an improvement on the Aston Villa that was labelled by Tangerines Boss Ian Holloway as derisory. In fact that Bloomfield Road boss is so reticent to accept any offer for his Scottish international player that he has stated that a bid would have to come in at £46m before they considered accepting it.
There is no doubting that the attack minded Adam could add more creativity to Liverpool’s midfield but an offer such as this is really a complete waste of time. One would imagine that the offer was made more as a way of signalling to the 25 year old that they are interested in his services and they will now hope that the former Rangers man pushes for an exit.
It seems highly unlikely that Ian Holloway will consider any offer less than £10m for a player who is clearly such a crucial part of the club’s plans to remain in the English top tier not just this season but beyond.
