Liverpool have confirmed Holland international Ryan Babel has agreed to join Bundesliga club Hoffenheim.
Babel’s future at Anfield has been the subject of conjecture for the past 12 months and he had been a long-term target for Birmingham City.
During the current transfer window, the attacker had been linked with a return to former club Ajax as part of a deal which could see Luis Suarez join Liverpool.
However, the Reds accepted an offer from Hoffenheim last week and Babel underwent a medical before the transfer seemingly stalled.
Reds boss Kenny Dalglish stated earlier on Monday that the 24-year-old would be staying on Merseyside, but the club have now confirmed Babel’s impending departure.

So it had appeared that Kenny Dalglish was looking to keep Dutch winger Ryan Babel but now it seems that he has now agreed to move to Bundesliga side Hoffenheim for a fee in the region of £6m. The 24 year old has failed to impress during his three and a half seasons at Anfield and a move to the German club is possibly in the best interest of all concerned as it gives the former Ajax man a chance to reignite his ailing career.
