Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is ready to make an offer for highly rated Valencia midfielder Ever Banega after his moves to bring in Mark Van Bommel and Lassana Diarra failed to bear fruit. The Argentine international has been linked with a move away from the Mestalla and is the type of player that the White Hart Lane boss has been looking for in order to add more strength in depth to the centre of his midfield.
The 22 year old’s career has been mired in controversy that has threatened to overshadow his very apparent ability and a move to the Premier League reportedly appeals to the Rosario born youngster who has had issues relating to his conduct off the field of play for some time. Over the past years though Banega has fought hard to repair a reputation sullied by a well publicised sex scandal and repeated absences from training had left many wondering if his career was destined for disaster.
However the £12m rated Valencia man has seemingly turned over a new leaf and has put in some sterling performances to help his side keep up their chase for a top four finish in La Liga as well as assisting Unai Emery’s side into the knock out stages of the Champions League.
Redknapp is keen to bring in Banega even though the former Boca Juniors man would be cup tied from taking part in the Champions League but would nonetheless assist the North London side’s attempts to seal another top four spot.
