Liverpool are reportedly preparing a final offer to sign Luis Suarez as the Saturday deadline approaches.
Whilst the transfer window will remain open until Monday, Ajax have told Liverpool they have until the opening day of the weekend to make their move for Suarez and meet their demands for the player.
The Dutch giants are thought to want in the region of £30 million, and have claimed that Liverpool lack ‘respect’ over their opening offer for the Uruguayan forward.
Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf claims the player has demanded a move to Merseyside, as re-produced on Goal.com, and that he is ‘no longer motivated’ to represent the Godenzonen.
It is thought that Liverpool will have to offer at least £21 million to prize the 24-year-old to Anfield, and manager Frank de Boer has made it clear that they will not drop their valuation to allow the player to leave.
“We don’t want to lose him. Liverpool know what they have to pay and we are sticking to our guns,” said de Boer.

Having previously tried to snare Ajax striker Luis Suarez with a £12.7m bid it is being speculated that the Anfield side will try one last time to persuade the Dutch giants to sell by upping their offer to around £16m and will be interesting to see if the Amsterdam side will budge on their asking price.
Liverpool could of course well do with new attacking options but are reticent to put in too big an offer for a player who hasn’t been tried at the highest level and perhaps the Merseyside club are right to think twice about spending too much on a player who’s sackful of goals have come in the decidedly average Dutch Eredivisie.
Ajax are in financial trouble so they may at the last minute accept a lesser offer for a player who has stated his desire to leave and still has some of his seven match ban, given for his biting of an opponent, to run.
