Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is confident of completing the signings of Sulley Muntari and Stephane Sessegnon.
Muntari is already in the North East talking over his potential loan move from Inter Milan, while Paris Saint Germain’s Sessegnon is due to arrive on Wearside on Friday.
Sessegnon has told skysports.com of his desire to seal his switch, while Muntari is also known to be keen to finalise his transfer.
And Bruce is confident that after a long chase he will land the pair this weekend.
“We’re now in discussions with Sulley Muntari,” said Bruce.
“There’s an agreement with (Inter) Milan, and I believe the deal is close. We’re in discussions with Paris St Germain about Stephane Sessegnon, but we haven’t got permission to speak to the player directly yet.

Sunderland appear to be closing in on two very impressive midfielders who would greatly improve what Steve Bruce has to call upon in his current squad and clearly the Wearside club have some cash to splash and if they can bring in Sulley Muntari and Stephane Sessegnon then ambitions of a top six finish become all the more realistic.
The promising first half of the season clearly makes a move to the north-east club far more palatable and now is the time for the Black Cats to build on such performances especially if they have ambitions of securing European football for next term.
Clearly the loss of Darren Bent will have ramifications but it would be churlish to claim that Sunderland were a one man team and the next few months will be crucial to the standing of a club that is clearly very big in terms of fan base and now just wants to achieve a Premier League finish that is more in line with their large support and moves to sign these two greatly aid those plans.
A loan move for Inter Milan midfielder Muntari will reportedly include having the first refusal on a permanent deal and the cost of both the Ghana man and Benin midfielder Sessegnon would come to around £17m.
