Zoltan Gera will depart Fulham as a free agent in the summer after remaining at the club in January.
The Hungary international wants more opportunities at Craven Cottage and has made it clear that he wanted out during the winter transfer window.
Despite a deal not eventuating anywhere, the 31-year old attracted interest from Newcastle United, Stoke City and Birmingham City who are likely to come back to him in the next market when they can snare him for nothing.

Zoltan Gera is a very talented player who has struggled to get a regular first team spot during his two and a half year at Craven Cottage and Newcastle United’s interest in the Hungarian international is no surprise as Alan Pardew has reportedly been on the look out for a creative midfielder, hence the loan signing of Aston Villa playmaker Stephen Ireland.
Gera has found himself more often than not coming off the bench to make an impact in Premier League matches and Mark Hughes does not appear to be interesting in reversing that fact and the 31 year old former West Brom man is ready to call it quits and leave West London this summer.
The talented midfielder always seems to be able to make things happen when he is called upon to spark life into a game and he works well as a bridge between the centre of the park and the front men. He is a proven Premier League player and available for nothing come the end of the season and will no doubt have his pick of suitors with the likes of Stoke City, Everton and Birmingham City all keeping a close eye on him, however a move to St James’ Park to join the Magpies currently seems the most likely scenario.
