Liverpool were very active in the transfer window this winter and the overhaul at Anfield will continue right through the summer, with Marko Marin of Werder Bremen being touted as the next target on Kenny Dalglish hit list.
Marin has been much much sought after this season and according to the German media it is now Liverpool that have moved ahead of Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United as the favourites to sign the 21 year old.
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has already been involved in £100 Million worth of transfers since taking over from Roy Hodgson and has made it clear that Liverpool need a complete rebuild, meaning that the buying is going to continue.
Liverpool Director of Football Damien Comolli is well known for forays in continental Europe sizing up talented youngsters who he feels would work well in the Premier League, something he did successfully whilst at White Hart Lane and now it appears that the Frenchman has taken a liking to talented German international Marko Marin.
The 21 year old Yugoslav born wide man is an explosive winger who has been a big success at Werder Bremen since his move in 2009 from Borussia Monchengladbach. The pint sized flair player has been linked with a move away from the Weserstadion and having seen his side go from a third place finish last term to finding his side battling just above the relegation zone this term, a move seems all the move likely.
Liverpool have been linked with moves to bring some natural width to their Anfield squad, something that is all the more likely now that the ineffective Dutch international Ryan Babel has moved to the Bundesliga. However Werder will not sell Marin on the cheap, having lost the likes of Mesut Ozil for relative cheap fees, and the Merseyside club would have to fork out around €20m (£16m) and would have to beat off interest from the likes of Bayern Munich and Juventus to secure the talented youngster.
