REAL MADRID are ready to pile the pressure on Arsenal with a whopping £54MILLION bid to challenge Chelsea for Cesc Fabregas’ signature this summer.
Reports in Spain suggest Real hope to tempt Gunners boss Arsene Wenger into selling by offering striker Karim Benzema, 23, or attacking midfielder Sergio Canales, 19, in part-exchange.
Real coach Jose Mourinho, general manager Jorge Valdano and president Florentino Perez have decided on a no-holds-barred swoop for the Arsenal skipper.
Fabregas nearly rejoined his old club Barcelona last summer.
Last week Barca conceded they can no longer afford the Arsenal ace, 23, leaving the door open to Real and also Chelsea who are ready to match the British record £50m fee they have just paid Liverpool for Fernando Torres.

There appear to be many reasons why this move will never materialise and one has to question whether the source has either plucked this from nowhere or indeed Real Madrid are themselves deluded enough to think that a player who has consistently stated his love for Barcelona would then consider a move to the Bernabeu, such a move would defy logic and would probably make the Spanish international the subject of a great deal of hate not just from the Catalan club’s supporters but also from Gunners fans.
Once again this summer there will be a great deal of speculation about a possible departure of the 23 year old midfielder, with Barcelona of course making a few very blatant attempts to ‘tap-up’ their former youth team star. Chelsea are also said to be interested, but as with every transfer window of late, Arsenal have no compunction to sell. They do not need the money and know that any sale would anger their fans, supporters who have gone quite a few years since any meaningful success.
Wenger is linked with potential sales of a number of his squad, with the likes of Manuel Almunia, Andrei Arshavin, Nicklas Bendtner, Carlos Vela, Denilson all linked with departures and the North London club will however turn down any offer for Fabregas and a lot will depend on the player himself.
Cesc Fabregas has stated his desire to win trophies at the club and perhaps the chances of him asking to leave the club would depend a great deal on whether Arsenal could land either the Premier League or a first Champions League title?
