Liverpool are interested in a summer move for AC Milan winger Kevin Prince Boateng.
The Italian media are reporting that Liverpool have made informal contact about the possibility of signing the Ghana international.
But they could find the ownership status of the former Portsmouth player, who is owned equally by Milan and Genoa, a stumbling block as only Genoa seem interested in the sale.
Boateng, who had a disappointing two-year spell with Tottenham before rebuilding his reputation with Pompey, is valued at approximately £12.5m.
Speculation of a Liverpool move for AC Milan star Kevin Prince Boateng is growing and it does seem that the Anfield side is very keen to bring the Ghana international back to the Premier League but will have to deal with Genoa as well as the San Siro side when looking to land the talented midfield playmaker.
Under Kenny Dalglish’s leadership the Merseyside club have been a much improved side and are currently unbeaten in six games and along with Director of Football Damien Comolli Liverpool are looking to further strengthen their squad and with that in mind feel that the German born 23 year old could well add more creativity to the club’s midfield.
The likes of Lucas and Raul Meireles have shown great improvements in recent weeks but the adaptable attack minded talents that the former Portsmouth and Tottenham man possesses could well help give the club’s squad greater strength in depth.
Also, although Meireles is himself in a rich scoring vein, Liverpool do lack goals from their midfield and indeed Steven Gerrard aside the club could do with more players who can get forward and assist the attack and that is a role that Boateng is more than capable of playing.
