Liverpool will this summer attempt to lure Tottenham playmaker Niko Kranjcar to Anfield. The Croatian international has only been a bit part player at White Hart Lane and was strongly linked with a move away from the North London club last month but has since been called in to the starting line up to replace injured Gareth Bale and has proven very effective, scoring twice in the last two matches.
Liverpool Director of Football Damien Comolli has earmarked a move for the former Portsmouth man as he looks to add more creativity to the Merseyside outfit’s front line and Harry Redknapp may well be willing to accept offers for the 26 year old in the summer.
Kenny Dalglish has been promised funds to invest in the club’s squad by the club’s new owners who are looking to bring in players to help build a successful future and whilst Kranjcar is not in the early years of his career still has a lot to offer and will be keen to prove he has something to offer after an extended period warming the bench at Tottenham.
Tottenham are reportedly looking for around £10m for Kranjcar who only arrived at the North London club in September 2009, and it’s a fee that Liverpool are willing to pay in order to bring some much needed flair to their side and will also add more natural options out wide where the Zagreb born playmaker is most effective.
