Manchester United manager says John Terry’s attempt at mind games will not affect his players.

The 69-year-old believes his players are experienced and hungry enough to achieve success this season.

Chelsea skipper Terry claimed Manchester United will buckle under the pressure of winning the league and allow Chelsea back into the race.

The Blues are currently in fifth place and trail United by 12 points and the two sides meet next Tuesday.

But Ferguson says Chelsea are too far off the pace and will not make a comeback regardless of next week’s result.

“You try things. We all try things,” he said of Terry’s mind games. ”But it won’t be easy to come back from that kind of points deficit.

“I said some time ago, the team that is most consistent would win the league. We have to keep our momentum going and get that consistency.”

“My experience is that players want to play in all the games now,” he continued. “That is the problem.

“It is a nightmare picking teams at this stage of the season because you are leaving good players out of some very big games.

“This season I am helped a little bit because I have two or three injuries at the moment, so my options are condensed.

“All the players who are going to be playing all the time are delighted at that.”
