SAMIR NASRI has agreed a new five-year deal to stay at Arsenal worth at least £26million.
SunSport understands the mega-bucks contract is worth more than £100,000 a week and is a reward for Nasri’s sensational form this season.
The France international, 23, who had 18 months left on his previous contract of around £60,000 a week, has emerged as Arsenal’s attacking leader in the first half of this season.
The news he has agreed terms will be a massive boost to the Gunners ahead of tomorrow’s Carling Cup final against Birmingham.

This is indeed good news for Arsenal supporters the day before the Carling Cup final as Samir Nasri has become a crucial part of Arsene Wenger’s long term plans and the French international has been the top performer at the North London side this season and his signing of a new deal will seemingly put a end to interest in his services from the likes of Barcelona who have been tracking the former Marseille man as a potential target.
Wenger has been linked with moves for a number of additions to his Emirates squad but notably the players he is reportedly looking to land are in the defensive area as the Arsenal boss appears happy with his attacking options and the securing of Nasri for another five years will go along way to removing doubts about Nasri’s long term future at teh club he joined back in the summer of 2008.
However there are a number of Arsenal players who are reportedly still being strongly linked with exits from the club. Andrei Arshavin continues to be courted by Zenit and apparently the Russian and Robin Van Persie are wanted by Champions League holders Inter Milan whilst Nicklas Bendtner and Carlos Vela are also linked with exits.
