Liverpool defender Martin Kelly will miss the next month of the season after suffering a hamstring tear.
The 20-year-old sustained the injury in the 3-1 defeat away to West Ham when chasing after Scott Parker and was promptly substituted.
It is a huge blow for the England U21 international who has been very impressive in the right-back role since Kenny Dalglish was appointed manager in January.
Kelly will now miss important games, beginning with the home game against Manchester United on Sunday, both legs of the Europa League last-16 tie against Braga and the trip to Sunderland.
