LIVERPOOL are making moves to take Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago to Anfield.
The Argentina star does not feature in Jose Mourinho’s plans and will be sold to the highest bidder in the summer.
His old club Boca Juniors and AC Milan are interested, but he has ruled out a return to his homeland. Gago, 24, would love a crack at the Premier League, and the chance to play alongside Steven Gerrard and Raul Meireles.
Real have slapped a £10million price on Gago (left), although Liverpool will not go above £8m.

It seems that Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is ready to allow bit part player Fernando Gago leave the Bernabeu and Liverpool are hoping to bring the experienced 24 year old to Anfield to help beef up their midfield this summer.
Gago, now in his fifth season at the La Liga giants, is by no means a first team regular and was involved in an unsavoury incident with team-mate Pedro Leon in training earlier this season and a move to the Premier League could well help reignite a career that has seemingly stuttered of late.
Kenny Dalglish has seen his Liverpool central midfield performers all put in good performances of late with the likes of Lucas, Steven Gerrard and especially Raul Meireles all experience an upturn in form since the departure of Roy Hodgson.
£10m would seem like a more than fair price for a player with plenty of top level games under his belt and the potential to kick on and become a very useful player and perhaps an ideal replacement for Javier Mascherano who left for Barcelona at the beginning of the season.
