Liverpool playmaker target Keisuke Honda is being linked with a summer move away from Russia.
The CSKA Moscow star has been earning rave reviews since his return from the World Cup, with Liverpool thought to be one of the clubs keen on signing the 24-year-old.
Borussia Dortmund have joined the chase for the player though, according to reports in Russia, and the current Bundesliga leaders appear set to pose a €15 million challenge to Liverpool for the attacking midfielder’s signature.

Liverpool have been tracking 24 year old Keisuke Honda for some time now and there is growing speculation that the former VVV Venlo man will quit Russia after just one season which has led to talk of a move to Anfield but interest from runaway Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund may scupper the Merseyside club’s hopes as the Japanese international may opt for a move to the German side in order to compete at Champions League level.
Kenny Dalglish and Damien Comolli have been looking at potential summer additions that they feel will improve the club’s attacking third as it seems that there may be a need to bring in players who can provide the ammunition for new signings Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll and Honda may well be a wise buy in that respect.
Currently the club has a number of midfield options that have failed to produce the goods with the likes of Joe Cole, Milan Jovanovic and Maxi all seemingly falling short of the task, whereas Dirk Kuyt can at least weigh in with crucial goals and can also be played up front, the previous three are all in danger of being let go this summer.
