AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes his team were unlucky to be knocked out of the Champions League by Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs held out for a gutsy goalless draw and went through 1-0 on aggregate after beating the Serie A giants in the San Siro.
Ibrahimovic failed to live up to his superstar reputation as he failed to score in 180 minutes against Spurs, but he still thought Milan deserved to go through.
But the Swedish international acknowledges the North Londoners took their chances and is now focusing on winning the Italian league and cup double.
“We did well as a team but getting eliminated is never good, even if we put in a fine performance,” he said. “It’s still a defeat.
“The difference between us and Tottenham is that they took their only chance in the first leg.
“We have done well as a team in our last three games. We’re still in the running for the Serie A title and the Italian Cup, so from now on we have to concentrate on these competitions.
“In my opinion we were better than them, but the better team does not always win. Now we’re eyeing the other two trophies.”
