Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said rivals Manchester United will struggle to replace goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar.
The 40-year-old produced another inspired performance to help beat the Gunners 2-0 in the FA Cup last Saturday.
The former Dutch international produced a string of fine saves, denying Samir Nasri, Laurent Koscielny and Marouane Chamakh.
The Emirates boss believes Van der Sar, who has seen fans and team-mates try to change his mind over retirement but to no avail, is irreplaceable.
And Wenger knows about the hardship of replacing top-class keepers, having had problems finding replacements for David Seaman and Jens Lehmann.
“He’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world,” Wenger said following the weekend’s FA Cup tie.
“No matter who they buy next season, if he stops, they will feel the difference because not only does he have exceptional experience, he has exceptional talent.”
